Bars & Curves Collection
2004
This collection marked a pivotal moment in my evolution as a designer. Inspired by the sleek minimalism of classic bar motifs—seen everywhere from red carpets to the streets of downtown Los Angeles — it was a response to the style of the moment, but also a step forward in refining my voice. It began years prior with a pair of bar threader earrings that became my best-selling style. But it wasn’t until a dear friend, Roxane, asked me to make her a necklace to go with those earrings that the single design quietly sparked a new era. The original style number still carries her name—an enduring tribute to the collaboration. This collection was my first exploration into pavé-set diamonds—an intricate technique that brought new luminosity and a level of luxury to my work. With it came a boldness in silhouette: a double finger ring, ear cuffs and lariats. The work became more refined and daring, while still grounded in wearability.
