Paris Collection
2016
Perhaps my favorite and most prolific collection was born of one of my favorite cities. Paris is full of beauty and details everywhere you look, but the true inspiration for this collection came from the ornate ceiling of the apartment where I was showing the collection for fashion week. The intricate detail with its gilded embellishments and geometric patterns and forms became the blueprint for this collection. To echo that architecture, I intentionally mixed together bezel and prong settings as well as fancy cut diamonds in baguette, princess, round, pears, and trillion cuts. I used diamonds in a much larger scale than I had ever used before, each chosen to reflect the intricate shapes and patterns above me. This collection marked a shift in both aesthetic and ambition, and its success with retailers has allowed us to expand the concept season after season. What began as a ceiling became a cornerstone—a moment when ornament and structure reframed the way I approached design.
