May is the month of MOM! I’ve had so much fun hosting giveaways with uber-chic moms like Geri Hirsch and Melissa Magsaysay and now, to celebrate Mother’s day, I wanted to feature one more inspirational mama, who truly does it all. This month’s Finding is Lizzy Mathis, mom of three, model, on-air personality and founder of The Cool Mom Co. On her site, Lizzy shares style hacks, healthy recipes, DIY solutions, wellness wins and (my fave) tips on adulting! Basically it’s the good-to-know tricks for the “do it all mom”. And like the name of her blog attests, she really is one cool mom. She’s both down-to-earth and ethereal; she’s funny, smart and humble. Plus, she aims to help you realize your cool quotient as part of hippest tribe there is: the moms club! While in studio, she stayed true to her minimal roots but wasn’t afraid to try new things (she was game for anything we threw her way, including trying on some of our more bling-y styles that are still in development for seasons to come). Two words come to mind when I think of our style sesh, Lizzy’s zest for life and the way she balances love of self and love of family: BRING IT! And as you’ll see…she always does! | photos by annie mcelwain |

In the spirit of Mother’s Day, she created a bespoke charm necklace like we have never seen before! Instead of choosing a central disc or dog tag, she took a chance and paired two of our itty bitty word charms - Mama and Mrs -those are her most important titles afterall! She added a pave diamond star for herself and single diamond charm for her husband. I love that she created a necklace that represents the facets of her – self, mom, wife (and superstar)! Bonus, she can add initials or birthstones for her 3 kiddos any time she wants! Two other necklaces that she’d layer when not wearing her #ZCCharmstory were our one-of-a-kind kite diamond solitaire necklace and medium open circle with prong and princess diamonds . Effortless and unique, just like Lizzy!

As for rings, Lizzy isn’t afraid to layer them up. “It’s just like jewelry Tetris,” she exclaimed. She took rings from my prong diamond collection and stacked them up, starting with the prong set medium circle ring on one pointer and our brand new prong diamond vertical bar ring on the other. She peppered in our small prong diamond ring, medium prong diamond ring, open prong two diamond ring and crown band with prong diamonds to complete the look. She isn't normally a bracelet gal but when in Rome, you do as the Romans do! She was starry-eyed over 3 very sparkly bracelets that may just make her a convert. Since she has tiny wrists, bolo bracelets like our emerald cut diamond bolo and floating pear diamond bolo are perfect options that adjust to any wrist (so you never have to worry about them falling off). Our mixed cut fancy diamonds open cuff is not for the faint of heart but sure does live up to it's title (she fancy!)

Lizzy is planning to get mama/daughter piercings with her 7-year old fashionista, but her daughter isn’t thrilled about the idea just yet! So, since she currently only has both ears pierced once, we started with our XL gold hoops. To play up the hoops (her fave style to rock) we added our medium curb chain ear cuff, and prong diamond ear guard. This is a great way to give her a layered look without needing more holes! On her other ear, she kept the look low-key but cool by pairing our beaded curved bar cuff stud and a simple gold ear cuff. And Lizzy, as soon as you (and your daughter) take the plunge, we have some ear game ideas we want to share!

Lizzy Mathis is the mom we all aspire to be! She's endlessly inspiring, full of wisdom, and fiercely dedicated to those she loves. In my opinion, What makes her so magical is what you see is what you get and her message is clear: You're cool just by being YOU!
