I just returned from a rainy week with my family in Paris and, weather aside, it sure was magical! While I showed my line to buyers during Paris Fashion week my little guy tried escargot, munched on macarons, and visited the iconic Tour Eiffel – Paris, mon amour! Now that I am back, I am finally settling into my new lifestyle in the Valley, much like my latest finding Lucy Michel, mastermind behind Lucy Michel Ceramics. I have several of her iconic pieces decorating my studio and have been dying to collect more for my new home. Six years ago, unfulfilled by her day job, Lucy found herself in a pottery class and after just one lesson she was hooked. What began as a way to blow off steam, has turned into a full-blown business with a cult-following. While in studio, we instantly clicked as fellow moms, wives, entrepreneurs and, now, neighbors. Her jewelry personality is super similar to mine – the more, the better! She recently welcomed a son, baby Levi, into the mix and is setting up a home studio that will allow her more time and space to create. I can’t wait to see where Lucy goes with her ceramics in the future, and in the meantime, I will be collecting as many loops and arches as I can get my hands on! | photos by annie mcelwain |

Lucy brought her vivacious attitude to the jewels, layering on more and more to make sure she sparkled from any angle. She stacked on two of our classic bangles—a 3 diamond open cuff and a bezel diamond cuff, then added some new chunky bangles (including a one of a kind emerald bangle) and a plain rounded cuff. To bring a delicate touch to the stack, she layered in a pave diamond small circle bracelet.

As a new mama to baby Levi, I had to make sure Lucy sported our coveted mama necklace before stacking her up in even more decadent jewels! She added one of my favorite Paris necklaces, a herringbone chain, and a star-set diamond round locket to tuck away something sweet honoring her new family. Lucy created a colorful ring stack to compliment her emerald and diamond antique engagement ring (that her hubby picked out by himself – bravo!) She paired a tiny rainbow sapphire ring with a French-set pave band, a bezel turquoise ring and a graduated diamond eternity band to create a stack she could easily sport on the daily.

It’s not a well-kept secret that we love earring layers over here at ZC—and when someone comes into the studio ready to get stacked up I know how to have fun! Much to her mother’s chagrin (but our benefit), teenage Lucy frequented the Venice boardwalk for piercings, all ready for some new ear candy. She layered up our prong diamond x-small curb chain double stud, with a three-bezel diamond bar stud, lightning bolt and emerald and diamond stud on one ear. On the other, she stuck with the emerald theme (it’s her birthstone!) with a pave emerald huggie, and then brought some good vibes in with a peace sign chain to back earring.
